In addition to our world-renowned undergraduate faculty, Berklee summer program participants learn from acclaimed visiting artists. The course on Mixing and Mastering for Electronic Productions will provide a comprehensive overview of the techniques and tools used in the creation of electronic music. Whether you're an electronic music producer, self-producing artist, composer for visuals, songwriter, engineer, producer, or hobbyist, this course will help you expand your knowledge beyond the use of preset plug-ins.
You will learn about various tools, such as EQ, dynamics processing, reverb, delays, and others, and how to use them effectively. Advanced topics like multiband compression, external keying (sidechaining), parallel compression, and pitch processing will also be covered.
The course will use Logic Pro X as the DAW platform and will include tutorial videos, hands-on projects, and the opportunity to share your work with classmates for feedback and collaboration. iZotope's Ozone software, a key tool in mixing and mastering, will be available at a discounted rate for enrolled students. Early enrollment is recommended to ensure timely delivery.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
Understand the process of mixing in Logic Pro X
Use EQ and Dynamics processing in electronic mixing projects
Use Reverb and Acoustic Space in a mix
Use delay, chorus, and flanging in a mix
Apply advanced mixing techniques such as sidechaining, multiband compression, and pitch manipulation
Understand the process of automation and dynamic mixing with Logic Pro X
Use iZotope's Ozone plug-in to master stereo mixes with Logic Pro X
