Learn how to tell stories about you and your world using a variety of journalism skills. Students will apply the foundations of journalism to content creations across platforms. Projects include social media storytelling, zine creation, podcast production, breaking news coverage, and interviews. No journalism experience required, but curiosity is a must.

Consider the ways audiences understand and interpret information. Compare storytelling styles on podcasts, social media, magazines, and more. Experiment with different types of coverage, including news, sports and lifestyle. Hear from Newhouse alumni working in the field. Activities include social media storytelling, zine creation, event coverage, interviewing and multimedia production. No journalism experience required, but curiosity is a must.
All students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion and have the opportunity to request a Syracuse University noncredit transcript.

Course Objectives
Students must be of rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior status – or a 2023 high school graduate.
