What is Europe? This course explores the emergence of Europe as an idea and place. It draws on literature and art from Machiavelli to Russian ballet to explain Europe's changing meaning; and focuses on nation- and state-building to explain Europe's shifting boundaries

With our open enrollment policy, you don’t have to apply for admission to BU in order to take summer courses. Simply register for the courses that interest you. Registration for summer 2023 opens on February 16, 2023 at 7 am. Keep in mind that some courses have prerequisites. It is students responsibility to make sure they have fulfilled the necessary prerequisites before starting a summer course.
Current Bu Students
Summer Term is comprised of two, six-week summer sessions. Students can take up to two courses (8–10 credits) during each summer session. Students wanting to take an overload of more than two courses in a session need permission from their BU school or college. The overload course cannot be added on the Student Link, but must be added using a Summer Add/Drop form.
High School Students
Summer Term offers five pre-college programs for those entering eighth through twelfth grade.
